Stroke risk assessment tools are a useful way to quantify your current risk and subsequently identify which risk factors need your attention. To get your stroke risk score, try out any of the stroke risk factor calculators below:

  1. Stroke Risk Scorecard. This Stroke Risk Scorecard is a quick and simple way to calculate your risk of stroke. It was developed by the National Stroke Association. You can take it by visiting their website or downloading this PDF.
  2. Heart and Stroke Risk Assessment. This tool was developed by the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada. It’s useful because it’s a 2-in-1 since it does a risk assessment both for stroke and your heart.
  3. AF-Related Risk Score. Atrial fibrillation (AF) is a major risk factor for having a stroke. By 40, there is a 1/4 chance of developing AF. Then, AF makes you 5 times more likely to have a stroke compared to somebody without AF.  Since individual risk is determined by compiling many risk factors together, tests like this one will calculate your overall stroke risk factor by giving special attention to people with an existing AF condition.
