There is clearly increasing interest in the idea of “self-care” and you might see why I think it broadly relates to Preventive Medicine and Health Promotion. When I was young and seeing patients in clinic their attitude often was, “Look Doc, I don’t need you to teach me about things; just make me well!” That attitude is certainly changing.
