Heart friendly diet might not sound like the most attractive munching option, but there is a variety of foods that are both delicious and beneficial for the heart.

Vegetables and fruits are packed with vitamins, minerals, anti-oxidants and fibre that are good for the heart.

Whole grains like oats, brown rice, whole wheat and quinoa are an excellent source of fibre and B vitamins.

Seeds and nuts (like pumpkin and walnuts) have minerals that can help keep the heart healthy by lowering the LDL (bad) cholesterol.

Unsaturated fats and omega-3 fatty acids are healthy and available as olive oil and fish like salmon, mackerel and sardines.

Dark chocolate (with at least 70% cocoa content) is loaded with antioxidants.
